My Reiki Story
As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, I was trained to have a very person first approach with my clients. Everything I do is about honoring and supporting the being in my care (whether that’s a person, animal, physical space, a situation, or whatever).
My role is to help enhance quality of life. I’ve been taught how to work with anyone, anytime, anywhere with anything or nothing. So in terms of supportive tools, reiki is the perfect complement to my practice.
Reiki doesn’t require anything of you; only a willingness to receive. I simply serve as a conduit, holding the space for you and inviting the healing.
My Process
Reiki is a highly intuitive practice. Much of what I do in a session is guided by what I feel lead to do at the time.
I talk quite a bit in sessions as well, providing instructions or sharing relevant messages as they come to me. I realize this may not be for everyone and that’s ok.
I use a number of high quality doTERRA essential oils and various crystals in my reiki practice. I find these items enhance the experience because the vibrational energy of nature is so much higher than ours as humans.
People tend to be energy sponges soaking up all sorts of yucky stuff (like stress and frustration) from many different sources.
Nature, however, doesn’t worry about things as we do freeing it from the burden of overwhelm or overthinking. This makes natural materials ideal healing tools.
We are all a part of nature so being outside or in the presence of natural materials is very healing to our physical and energy bodies.
